چکیده

The existence of travelling waves in an atomistic model for martensitic phase transitions is the focus of study. The elastic energy is assumed to be piecewise quadratic, with two wells representing two stable phases. We develop a framework such that the existence of subsonic heteroclinic waves in a bi-infinite chain of atoms can be proved rigorously. The key is to represent the solution as a sum of a (here explicitly given) profile and a corrector in L(R). It is demonstrated that the kinetic relation can be easily inferred from this framework.

Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

ساختار فاز میدانهای پیمانه‌ای شبکه‌ای دو بعدی U(N) با کنش مختلط

We study the phase structure of two dimensional pure lattice gauge theory with a Chern term. The symmetry groups are non-Abelian, finite and disconnected sub-groups of SU(3). Since the action is imaginary it introduces a rich phase structure compared to the originally trivial two dimensional pure gauge theory. The Z3 group is the center of these groups and the result shows that if we use one ...

Nonexistence of Slow Heteroclinic Travelling Waves for a Bistable Hamiltonian Lattice Model

The nonexistence of heteroclinic travelling waves in an atomistic model for martensitic phase transitions is the focus of this study. The elastic energy is assumed to be piecewise quadratic, with two wells representing two stable phases. We demonstrate that there is no travelling wave joining bounded strains in the different wells of this potential for a range of wave speeds significantly lower...

Heat Transfer Enhancement of Al2O3–H2O Nanofluid Free Convection in Two-Phase Flow with Internal Heat Generation Using Two Dimensional Lattice Boltzmann Method

A two-phase lattice Boltzmann model considering the interaction forces of nanofluid has been developed in this paper. It is applied to investigate the flow and natural convection heat transfer of Al2O3–H2O nanofluid in an enclosure containing internal heat generation. To understand the heat transfer enhancement mechanism of the nanofluid flow from the particle level, the lattice Boltzmann metho...
